WINTER CLASSES

Get Ready to Ride

Below is information for the Northwest Trails CORCORAN safety training class session for 2011-2012.

ALL MINNESOTANS BORN AFTER DEC. 31, 1976, MUST HAVE A SAFETY CERTIFICATE TO OPERATE A SNOWMOBILE IN THE STATE!

If you have a driver’s license this certification will be indicated on your license. Nonresidents certified in snowmobile safety training in another state or Canada will be recognized in Minnesota.

You must attend ALL classes to qualify for certification.

Classroom
Thursday, December 1, 2011; 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Tuesday, December 6, 2011; 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Thursday*, December 8, 2011; 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
    *written exam day

Outdoor Practical
Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011; 9:00am - 12:00pm

Times for outdoor practical exam will be assigned during class on December 8. Students will be given a one-hour time slot between 9:00am and 12:00pm on December 10 for the practical exam.

Location Classroom
Classroom courses are instructed at the Corcoran Civic Center located at 8200 Cty Rd 116 (on Cty 116 between Cty 10 and Cty 30)

Location Practical (driving test)
'Over the snow' test will be at Corcoran Civic Center located at 8200 Cty Rd 116 (on Cty 116 between Cty 10 and Cty 30).  Practical exam happens regardless of snow conditions.

Cost
$10 per Student: $5 paid to NWT and $5 paid later directly to the MN Department of Natural Resources by parent
Check/Money Order for $5 payable to: Northwest Trails Association sent with registration.

Age Requirement
Students must be 11 years old by December 1, 2011 in order to enroll in the course (no exceptions per law). Your child must bring a copy of his/her birth certificate to prove age to the first class. We don't collect the copy, we just need to see it.

Registration
There are 75 seats open for this course. Applications are taken until all seats are filled; we typically receive 100+ applications so register early to guarantee a seat.

2. Your $5 fee to NWT must accompany the registration form in order to be considered registered.
   
   
3. We do not confirm your registration; we will only notify you if the course is filled and your fee will be returned.
