Below is information for the Northwest Trails DNR CD safety training class session for 2016-2017.


ALL MINNESOTANS BORN AFTER DEC. 31, 1976, MUST HAVE A SAFETY CERTIFICATE TO OPERATE A SNOWMOBILE IN THE STATE!

If you have a driverís license this certification will be indicated on your license. Nonresidents certified in snowmobile safety training in another state or Canada will be recognized in Minnesota.

NORTHWEST TRAILS YOUTH SNOWMOBILE SAFETY TRAINING: REGISTRATION OPEN UNTIL NOVEMBER 24.

Classroom
Friday, November 25, 2016; 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Outdoor Practical
Saturday, November 26, 2016; 9:00am -3:00pm

Location - Classroom
Classroom courses are instructed at the Corcoran Civic Center located at 8200 Cty Rd 116 (on Cty 116 between Cty 10 and Cty 30)

Location - Practical (driving test)
'Over the snow' test will be at

Supplies Needed in Advance
Complete online MN DNR Youth Snowmobile Safety program. Online course fee is included. Course information and a registration number will be provided after we receive the preregistration form and fee
.

Cost
$20 per Student: $15 payable to NWT at registration and $5 paid later directly to the MN Department of Natural Resources by parent. The $15 NWT fee will be waived for anyone joining NWT.
Check/Money Order for $15 payable to: Northwest Trails Association sent with registration.

Age Requirement
Students must be 12 years old by March 31 of next year in order to enroll in the course
(no exceptions per law). Your child must bring a copy of his/her birth certificate or a prior firearms or ATV safety certificate to prove age to the first class. We don't collect the copy, we just need to see it.

Registration
There are 50 seats open for this course. Applications are taken until all seats are filled; we typically receive 100+ applications so register early to guarantee a seat.

  2. Your $15 fee to NWT must accompany the registration form in order to be considered registered.

  3. We will confirm your registration, provide a link to the course and a registration number upon receipt of your fee.
